Leicester Planning Commission Meeting Tuesday, May 9, 20176:02 P.M.*Unapproved*** See subsequent minutes for any changes Members Present: Acting Chair, Peter Fjeld, Jeff McDonough, Suki Fredericks Members Absent: Donna Swinington, Tom Drew, Bill Shouldice Others Present: Sandra Trombley, Secretary Call to Order/Roll Call: Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Acting Chair and roll call. Review Agenda: Reviewed agenda. Approval of Minutes of December 27, 2016: Motion by Jeff and second by Peter to approve minutes of December 27, 2016 as written. All in favor. So, approved. New Business: Plan Next Steps Revising Town Plan: Julie provided and Sandy handed out current Town Plan booklets adopted in 2012 for board members to read, review and come back with changes, ideas, suggestions for our next meeting. Sandy stated that Julie offered to update current statistics for census data in the Town Plan. Peter mentioned there are things we need to include like utilities, solar farms, emergency management, etc. Diane has gone to some of the Regional Planning meetings and could offer some light on some of this information. Suki mentioned that we have a month to look at this closely and perhaps look at other town plans and get information from them. There was some discussion around solar farms. Suki would like to see mentioned how much organic farmland we have under the agricultural section. Jeff brought up the discussion of our meeting nights being on Tuesday. Tuesdays are becoming an issue for some members. He suggested that perhaps we try the second Wednesday for Planning Commission and last Wednesday of the month for the DRB. If this day is not good for the other members, we can try to choose another day of the week. Motion by Jeff and second by Peter to attempt to change meeting day to the second Wednesday of the month for Planning Commission and last Wednesday of the month for DRB. All in favor. So, approved. If there is no DRB meeting on May 31st, the PC would like to meet on May 31st to begin reviewing the Town Plan. Everyone should do their homework for next meeting.
