Cemetery Minutes 5-12-16, Agenda 5-18-16, 6-9-16
BROOKSIDE CEMETERY COMMITTEE Thursday, May 12, 2016 Present: Tom Barker, Donna Pidgeon, Donna Swinington, Pam Gates. Absent: Ron Fiske and Ken Young. The meeting was called to order by Chair Tom Barker at 6:30 P.M. Minutes from April 14, 2016 were approved unanimously as written. Pam asked if her sister Laura Driscoll could be a member since she is not a Leicester resident.The Committee agreed that Laura could be a member because she was a past resident. The Committee welcomes anyone willing to help. Tom spoke with Don Durkee about cleaning stones. The Committee will meet in the cemetery on May 18, 2016 at 6:30 pm to pick out the stones to be cleaned. The Selectboard approved approximately $2000, about the same amount as last year. Tom said the Selectboard did agree to raise the donation fee for plots to $350. Tom also reported that he was in the Town Office earlier today. The Cemetery Maps are now up-to-date. Julie Delphia, Town Clerk/Treasurer, said she would look into a computer program to aid the mapping updates. Donna Swinington suggested the Committee should submit a request for funds from the Walter Cerf grant program. Donna Swinington will meet with the Town Clerk to discuss the grant application. Pam and Donna Swinington agreed to meet on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 and start planting flowers in the cemetery. Donna Swinington and Pam Gates will be absent for our next meeting on June 9, 2016 due to prior commitments. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm.
