Selectboard Meeting Minutes
Monday, November 4, 2024

Members Present: Diane Benware, Diane Randall, Tom Barker, John Rouse

Others Present: Julie Delphia, Arlan Pidgeon, Sandra Trombley
 
Call to Order:  Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair.

Review of Agenda:  
 
Approval of October 21, 2024, minutes:
 
Motion by Tom and second by John to approve minutes of October 21, 2024, as written.  All in favor.   So, approved.  
 
Review/Authorization to Pay Bills:
 
Motion by Tom and second by John authorizing Julie to pay the bills and allow Julie to pay appropriations.  All in favor.   So, approved.
 
Reports from Town Officials, Committees:
 
Town Clerk/Treasurer:
 
Julie shared the new tax sale process and provided the document that was sent to Beth.
 
Julie received a call from Melinda Piper asking if the Superintendent could use this space for a meet and greet.  
 
Board didn’t feel anyone would come to the White Building and recommended the school instead.
 
Julie reported about the Election’s Grant.  We purchased the safe, computer, camera, ballot bags, signs and hiring the Sheriff.  This leaves $650.85.  Julie would like to use the rest of the money for a scanner, unless the Board had other ideas.  Board agreed.
 
Julie shared the multitude of problems she has been having with the FedEx Ground Contract.  Whenever Julie has a Staples order it is delivered to someone in Brandon.  They specifically stated that they are incapable of delivering to the Town Office.
 
Going forward, the Staples orders are going to be delivered to Julie’s house.
 
Board agreed.
 
Road Foreman:
 
Arlan reported he put the culvert across the road on Hooker Road.  
 
Arlan painted the safe.
 
Animal Control Officer:
 
 
Weight Permits:
 
Diane reported that two dozen people came for the Energy Navigator Program that she and two others hosted.  They provided literature.  They had coffee and donuts.
 
They talked about other Outreach Program ideas.
 
 
CORRESPONDENCE:
 
 
OLD BUSINESS:
 
Ferson Road Concerns:
 
Diane emailed the Sheriff about the the problems with agriculture trucks and resident complaints.  
 
Sheriff ideas:
  •       Making calls to farmers
  •       Sheriff patrol during seasonal times
  •       Cones along with slow signs
  •       Bright orange flags top of other signs
 
For now, Board will do nothing.  Come spring the Board can revisit the subject.
 
 
NEW BUSINESS:
 
Tom mentioned the need to change the light bulbs.  
 
They need to get six daylight bulbs.
 
 
 
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
 
Motion by Tom and second by John to go into Executive Session at 6:55 p.m. for possible legal matter.  All in favor.  So, approved.
 
Motion by John and second by Tom to come out of Executive Session at 7:15 p.m. with no action taken.
 
Motion by Tom and second by John to adjourn at 7:17 p.m.
